Why it might have happened

• The page may be stale.
• An app or script may have sent broken encryption details.
• The encrypted data may have been copied incorrectly.

What you can try

1. Refresh the page and try again.
2. If creating an encrypted paste, re-enter the passphrase or recipient.
3. If using a tool, update it and retry.
