Description:
This position is intended to offer software developers who are still in college a position that will get them aquainted with the software business through our growing technology-based organization. The Development Interns will be trained in topics such as PHP, MySQL, Perl, Synacor coding standards, development process, architecture, etc.
After an orientation period to learn the process and architecture of Synacor’s software, Interns will be assigned to one or more development teams to assist on current development projects. Synacor will work with the universities to provide a comprehensive evaluation of performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Attend training seminars and courses that are presented both internally and externally.
• Shadow other developers as assigned to learn essential job duties and get introduced to development staff and culture.
• Work on development tasks and projects as assigned by Sr. Architects or project managers.
• Write technical and non-technical documentation pertaining to the projects assigned.
Education, Experience and Skills:
• Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a Bachelor's degree program in computer science or equivelent work experience.
• Solid software design ability.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate.
• Multi-server web development experience a plus.
• Large-scale database application experience a plus.
• A strong ability and desire to learn PHP, Perl, and MySQL.
