I want it to be duly noted that I never chose to be gay. It appears that many people live under the false pretense that homosexuality is either a choice or a disorder, whereas it is obviously neither. I also do not support Gay Pride, White Pride, Black Pride, or any other Prides based on something you had no control over. I understand priding yourself in something along the lines of climbing Mt. Everest or wrestling a grizzly, but not priding yourself over something you had no hand in. People are born white, born black, and born to a sexual orientation, it's not something achieved, so pride is foolish.
I have the unwarranted tendency to editorialize on society in various aspects. This is either due to the fact that I have subconscious delusions of grandeur or that society is so amazingly flawed that it needs picked at thoroughly and repeatedly. I'd like to assume the ladder seeing as I generally have a negative self image and I am, in some ways, rigorously pessimistic. I know ahead of time that this may need explanation seeing as it's not a common case of pessimism.
The type of pessimism I subscribe to is not based exclusively on everyday events (such as expecting to fail a test or to blow a job interview), but instead pertains to society as a whole. I believe that humanity is in a downward spiral with no hope for revival. I cannot testify to whether this is a healthier form of pessimism but I can say it does not affect my conscious thoughts as often as the basic form would. Also, optimism in this area would be blind and without logical reasoning.
I also have some sense of long term pessimism which is self observed by the fact that I have doubts I will ever even finish this book, nor do I believe that I will continue to write it after the first time I take a break. This can be a healthy pessimism since in some way this forces me to write as much as I can while I'm still inspired to do so. Therefor when I approach the document in the future I might write more simply due to having already written a considerable amount. So based on these examples I expect that optimism is not always a health alternative to pessimism and that both philosophies have certain privileges to contrasting situations. However, I come off in a sincere form as a pessimist.
