The Environmental Protection Agency or EPA created an inventory of computers “greener” than the ones made in past times. They’ve gotten help from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers to set standards for computers that have a least amount of mercury lead & cadmium with longer “life-spans” and safer for recycling. In July, the EPA issued 60 types of models with en “end of life management”, which means that the manufacturers would take them back and recycle them. At EPEAT.net (short for Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool), it show the different types of computers and brands that are complaints. It’s stated, though, that the EPEAT listed models reduces emission of climate changing-greenhouse gasses.
