Powerful Build - Whenever Gaston is subject to a size modifier or special size modifier for an opposed check (such as during grapple cheks, bull rush attempts, and trip attemts), he is treates as one size large if doing so is advantageous to him. Gaston is also considered to be one size larger when determining whether a creature's special attacks based on side (such as improved grab or swallow hole) can affect him. Gaston can use weapons designed for a creature size one larger without penalty. However, his space and reach remain those of a creature of his actual size. the benefits of this racial trait stack with the effecs of powers, abilities, and spells that change the subject's size category.
Mountain Movement - Gaston can make standing long jumps and standing high jumps as if they were running long jumps and high jumps. Gaston can also engage in accelerated climbing (climbing half his speed as a move action) without taking the -5 penalty on the climb check.
Acclimated - Gaston doesn't take penalties for altitude described in the Mountain Travel section on page 90 of the DMG. He doesn't lose this acclimation to high altitude even if he spends a long time at a lower elevation.
Gaston gains a +2 racial bonus to sense motive checks.
Gaston's Cohort is LeFou, a level 6 gnome bard.
Gaston has the following Class Features, in order of acquisition:
Proficiency with all Simple and Martial Weapons, light and medium armor, and shields (except tower shields).
Fast Movement (Ex) - +10

Rage (Ex) 2/day
Favored Enemy (Ex) - Animals
Wild Empathy (Ex)
Combat Style (Ex) - Archery
Uncanny Dodge (Ex)
Trap Sense (Ex)
Tactics: Gaston prefers to sneak up on his foes, rage, and bull rush them, following up with a series of handaxe and unarmed strike attacks. He prefers to use his musket on animals and targets. Gaston is an accomplished hunter, and has his trophies mounted and converted into various pieces of furniture. Gaston's Leadership is 10 (CL 7 + Cha 2 + Renown 2 - Failure 1), and represents his leadership score when he lead the villagers against the beast. He gained +3 to this check (+1 for having previously lead the mob, +2 for showing the mob the horrific beast and convincing them he was in need of killing). Gaston expended an action point to temporarily raise his Leadership score to 19, giving him 48 NPC followers, the precise number required to apply the Mob template.
Advancement: Gaston levels up in Barbarian, and aquires the following feats: Goad (RoS 140), Rampaging Bull Rush (RoS 143), Improved Grapple, Quick Reload, Power Attack, Trophy Collector (PHB2) and other feats that enhance his Rage ability and his bull rush tactics. He favores his dexterity score over his strength score for ability score increases, though his next point will go towards the 19 to even it out and give him a +5 str mod.
Construction notes: Gaston is represented here as he was just before facing the Beast. Gaston's stats were rolled 4d6 drop low, he gained full+con HP at first level and his other HD were rolled (rather spectacularly, might I add, wish I could play this guy), his first level was barbarian, then three of ranger, then three of barbarian. The musket presented is from d20 Modern: Past. Reloading it takes two full-round actions, Quick Reload can reduce it to one full round action. The Goliath race was chosen for its Powerful Build racial trait, and because Gaston was at least a little comfortable with the altitude of his final fight (until an AoO from a creature with Awesome Blow and a fumbled untrained climb check did him in). It should be noted that, in spite of his considerable talents and physique, Gaston has met a number of people who hunt just as well as or perhaps even better than him.
Still, no one's neck is as thick as Gaston.
