These instruction are based on Gentoo's livecd-amd64-installer-2008.0_beta1.iso

- boot livecd via standard kernel/options
(wait for automatic login to X... this might take a while)
- open the Gentoo Linux Installer (GTK+)
- Partition hard drive
(ext3 is suggested, a limited number of filesystems will work with later tools)
  suggested: 256MB boot partition (ext3)
             2x<TOTALRAM> (to max 8GB) SWAP partition (swap) e.g. 4GB RAM = 8192MB
             REST as / (ext3)
(we could map out /var, /usr, etc seperately, but it's doesn't actually help with security, and just makes things more annoying later on)

- Start the installation
- Enter a root Password
- Select UTC timezone

- Add extra users:
using saosin, 1g, phzi, brocebeats, drudge
- Click Add User
- Enter information:
  <username> - as above
<password> - a temporary but secure password, write them down, pass them on, and tell everyone to change password as soon as they login, using SECURE passwords!
<groups> = cdrom, floppy, usb, wheel, portage - (add plugdev for 1g ONNLY, for local server use)
  <shell> - blank
  <homedir> - blank
  <userID> - blank
  <comment> - blank
- Click Accept Changes, and repeat adding users.
- Click Next when done adding all users

Package Selection:
- Select ONLY these Packages:
(a secure server is a minimal server)
 gnupg,
 nmap,
 screen,
 netcat,
 iptables,
 slocate,
 traceroute,
 logrotate,
 ntp,

- Graphical install will finish, reboot without boot disk
