I showed the animations to a completely random sample of very non-technical people (i.e., my five siblings, between 20-30 yrs old).
They all thought the graphic design / etc. was cool, but none of them really understood the point of the first one (the wireless networking). They all got most of the idea of the second one, but they, lacking a name for the mesh-networking concept, started calling it "daisy-chain networking". This is understandable given the animation and probably sufficent; I'm pretty sure the informal concept expressed captures what a layperson would imagine after a less-than-2-hour training session on mesh networking.
I think the animations are great, so thought it worth a little feedback to you in case you do more.
