Introduction
Thank you Graham for all those kind words,
I actually have a confession to make; I cheated a little bit with this speech…. I looked on the internet to see if I could get any ideas, but me being me I got a bit sidetracked. So the bad news is that it might be a rubbish speech, however the good news is I am up to date on all football related gossip and have plenty of tips for horses running at Wolverhampton tonight!
I did also ask for a microphone but I was told there wasn’t one available. So if you can’t hear me at the back, the silence from the people at the front should re-assure you that you’re not missing anything!
Friends and family id like to thank each and every one of you for the amount of effort you have made to be here to celebrate our marriage. We know many of you have travelled a long way to be here to celebrate with us so we hope that the day and night is enjoyable for you as it is special to us.
We have been planning this wedding for some months now, although it seems like a lifetime. Well, I say "we", really Lisa did all the work, I just agreed to sort out the weather (if sunny add: and might I add what a cracking job I did, it wasn’t easy but nevertheless I made it sunny today) (If cold add: And I even didn’t even get that right.)

Firstly I’d like to thank Lisa’s Mum and Dad; Graham and Norma, for raising such a beautiful, kind and intelligent daughter. Hopefully now all is forgiven for me taking their daughter across the water and Norma has put away the voodoo doll and Graham has cancelled the contract killers. Seriously though, thank you for making me feel so comfortable in amongst your family, I truly feel that I have been welcomed by everyone, including Toby who now does not bark and snap around my ankles for 2 hours every visit.

Thank Bridesmaids
They say that on a wedding day, no-one should look as beautiful as the bride. Well I’m sure you will all agree that our young bridesmaids Chloe and Rebecca certainly give Lisa a run for her money, thank you for looking so lovely walking down the aisle with my wife. We also have Lisa’s sister Emma who is Lisa’s ‘mantrannnnn’ oh sorry chief bridesmaid, and id especially like to thank Emma for producing our wonderful seating plan and place cards for today. Please all three of you accept your gifts from us for your very important parts in our day.

Thank you also to Andrew and Will for the fantastic job they did in ensuring everyone was seated correctly, I know you are both United fans so you will be pleased to hear I have the latest Man Utd score for you, which is ……. Aside from that can Andrew come to the front to collect his Gift.
I’d also like to ask Andrew to present Jeanie with this bouquet of flowers, for the fantastic job she has done on the cake. I’m sure you will all agree that it most certainly seems a shame to cut such a piece of art as that. Thank you for making the cake so personalised towards, it really means a lot to us.

Another person I really have to thank is my beautiful wife, Lisa.
I first met Lisa in a Bar over here on Christmas Eve 5 years ago, and I can certainly say that all my Christmases came at once the night I met her.
They say you don't marry someone you can live with - you marry the person who you cannot live without which is very true with Lisa, and while looking forward and preparing myself for today I certainly wasn't prepared enough for when I saw her walk down the aisle radiant with sheer elegance, grace and beauty. I was overwhelmed to say the least by how beautiful Lisa looked this afternoon. Thank you for marrying me and making me the happiest and proudest man in the world today , I don’t have to hope that our future together will be a happy one, because I KNOW it will be
Best man
Finally I’m nearly going full circle on myself and returning to thank my Dad, for being my best man on the happiest day of my life. He is now going to make a speech, and I feel I should warn you that at times my Dad has lived in a different reality to the rest of us, and has had a tendency at times to make up stories, but please I thank you for humouring him during his speech.
I’d like to ask him now to give his best man’s speech – and given that I am his ONLY son, I would appreciate it if he would take it easy on me
