ABSTRACT
========
Konqueror is a our favorite web browser, file browser and document viewer, but it lacks support for a very cool feature that other open source browsers have had for a long time: scripting. So the idea is to add extensive Kross scripting support to Konqi. Also adding the possibility of downloading new scripts via KHotNewStuff will be added, and two or three sample plugins will be developed and added to KHotNewStuff to show the main functionality and to show how easy is to create a plugin. Enough documentation about the Kross API for konqueror will created too.

DESCRIPTION
===========
I think Kross support is important because it will attract new developers to konqueror, and I believe that Kross support for konqueror is a key feature for its future success in the mid-long term.

THe first step will be to study how Kross scripting have been added to applications such as KSpread, KWord, Krita or Plasma, in order to do it the right way. Then I will have to identify to which classes I will create a wrapper class that will provide their functionality to Kross scripts. And the final step is to.. create all those wrapper classes. Parallel to that development, support to upload/download the plugins from KHotNewStuff will be added. The plugins will be loaded with with a ScriptingPart.

Basically I will try to do the same as what was done in KWord, Krita, KSpread.. but this time in Konqueror. In conclusion, after this summer, someone should be able to create a Konqueror plugin in a Kross supported scripting language. This plugin could extend konqueror or automate things on it.

ABOUT ME
========
My name is Eduardo Robles Elvira (Edulix is my nickname), I'm 21 years old and I am in the fourth year of the Computer Science degree in the University of Seville (Andalusia, Spain). I started using Linux as my main OS when I was 15.
I started last year to work in Konqueror developing a patch to support undoing of closed tabs, a feature merged in trunk which already comes with KDE 4.0. I've got a SVN account in KDE and I've been actively using it in different places of KDE. I've recently committed some bugfixes to Kate and Dolphin for the KDE 4.0 branch, and I do my best contributing to improve Konqueror, specially I'm used to work with David Faure, who has helped me much in this regard. Last week - holy week - I've been busy adding support to undo closed windows in Konqueror. I have a fair knowledge of C++, Qt and of Konqueror code base in general. And be sure that as I've been always doing, I will work towards integrating all the code I develop in this project inside Konqueror. In summary, I think this is a quite straightforward project that I will be very able and willing to
carry out.
I plan to work hard on this project, and I will spend 25 hours a week on it on average, because I want Konqueror to succeed =).
