a) Truck:

4. To begin, we measured the vehicles and decided upon widths for the different parts of the roads. The main street width became just a little bit larger than the width of the widest car, and we added a small spacer lane between the main lane and the median in order to provide some horizontal clearance. A somewhat small shoulder (breakdown lane) was added to the outer side of the road to provide some space for more horizontal clearance. It wasn’t designed to allow an entire car width, though, because it is illegal to stop in a tunnel for any reason. We designed the width of the road as a whole to allow a large vertical clearance, where even if a car were to swerve a bit off the road, it still wouldn’t hit the top of the tunnel, unless it was completely off the road (which at that point it’d be pretty
