Hey, folks!

With only four days, seven hours, and 27 minutes (at least, when I wrote this) until the election finishes, we want to release the last part of the Right Stuff. We've received great feedback on Part 1: Making the Right Choice (The Right Person for the Right Job with the Right Tools) and Part 2: Creating the Right Role-playing Environment (The Right Fleets with the Right Ships and the Right Crews). These are on our campaign site, so if you want to refresh your memory, check it out! The specific links are:

"Making the Right Choice": http://lsdasha.net/election/node/63
"Creating the Right Role-playing Environment": http://lsdasha.net/election/node/69
"The Right Stuff": http://lsdasha.net/election/node/4

This is our last part (sniff, sniff <G>), but it's just as vital as the other two parts. Together, they form the basis of the Right Stuff for our club. As always, we're presenting it in a simple format that we believe speaks for itself.

MAINTAINING THE RIGHT ENVIRONMENT
Providing the Right Help and Having the Right Fun

"The best way to cheer yourself up is to cheer somebody else up." -- Mark Twain

Problem:

Members feel lost and not valued. Not enough laughs and enjoyment. Posting becomes an obligation.

Solution:

Providing members with support. Not assuming that everyone already knows how to do everything. Giving opportunities for all members to use their talents to help the club. Reinforce positive contributions and reward performance. Remember that every member, from the president to the newest cadet/ensign, is a volunteer and there to have fun. Don't waste our time with bureaucracy. Encourage and support opportunities for STF members to get to know one another.

Immediate Benefit:

Better and more reliable posting from happier members. More fun. A close-knit club community. New members feel welcomed and supported. A more open club. Fewer complaints. More respect. Encouraging a great atmosphere. Existing members continue to enjoy the club and be challenged.

Long Term Benefits:

Less burnout. Improved member retention. Creates a reputation of STF not just another RPG. More and different perspectives and ideas. Better development of role-players.

Jack and I want to thank everyone who has given us feedback and expressed their support for our policies. It lets us know that we're on the Right Track. (Did you ever know "Right" is such a versatile word? <G>)

We look forward to your questions and comments!

Sarah

Hemenway/Dipper: It's YOUR club!

P.S. This weekend, we'll be releasing a big surprise on our website. It's something that Jack and I have been asked about a lot in our years in STF, but, shh, we're not saying what, yet. You'll just have to wait and see!
