<robogeek> leonel: sorta
<leonel> robogeek: why ?
<robogeek> leonel: it's quality is "pretty good" and we do mean for openjdk 6 to be more stable than openjdk7
<leonel> so it's not a replacement for jdk 6 from sun ??
<robogeek> There are known bugs and a known regressions from previous releases
<robogeek> it is not as highly tested as the regular JDK 6 builds
<robogeek> it is missing most of the work that has gone into 6u4, 6u5, 6u6, 6u10, etc
<robogeek> there are known compatibility problems
<robogeek> all these are issues for us and/or the community to work on improving
<leonel> sun has released jdk6 update 5 openjdk does not have that changes or what jdk6 from sun is openjdk6
<robogeek> what are you looking for?
<robogeek> it's complicated and has to do with the lineage
<robogeek> openjdk6 is derived from openjdk7 b20
<robogeek> whereas the 6u1,2,3,4,5,6,7,... train is a continuation of jdk6
<leonel> robogeek: looking for info about the current status and security updates that make into openjdk and how fast they go
<robogeek> there is work which has gone into jdk6 which has not been forward ported into jdk7, openjdk7 nor openjdk6
<robogeek> security fixes are a different issue, the openjdk builds are part of the security fix release system
<leonel> so I can say that openjdk has security updates ?
<robogeek> yes
<leonel> just what makes different are the non security changes made to jdk6
<robogeek> yes
<leonel> and security updates get into sbn or mercurial or cvs ?
<robogeek> we're using mercurial
<leonel> great
