Genetically-modified animals are commonly used in laboratories for experimentation. I considere it as a good thing because these modified animal are the key of medicine progress. As an example, it's because tests were made on these animals, their ability to adapt and their resistance that Men were able to cure some diseases, such as influenza, wich had been a great concern. It is also thanks to these animals that we can keep on progressing in our searching for cure to rare, genetic or severe diseases (Cancer, Parkinson's, Alzeihmer's) and study the side effects of some molecules before releasing it to the human market. So, whatever the study, GMA play an essential role.
It should be known that in laboratory, we are very concerned with the ethic and the welfare of the animal: We handle the animals and prepare them in the best possible conditions, to generate the least amount of stress we can. And it is also because we love animals that we work with them.
However, I am opposed to the use of animals for cosmetics or clothing : That's an unhealthy luxury.
I would conclude that without the AGM there would be poor progress in medicine.
