It has been about 2 years since you have since announced that QMR 3.0 is/was going to be released. I have since not seen any updates to the web site. I would like to offer you a way out of this; How about you relinquish control of qmailrocks.org <http://qmailrocks.org> <http://qmailrocks.org> <http://qmailrocks.org> over to me? I am one of your biggest supporters of qmailrocks.org <http://qmailrocks.org> <http://qmailrocks.org> <http://qmailrocks.org> and if anyone should do this, it should be me. I can guarantee you that you will not be disappointed by the outcome. Please let me know. It is something to seriously consider. I realize that qmailrocks has been on the back burner for you and I would really like to get it updated myself. So many people on the qmr email list complain so many times about the same things over and over again and this could be fixed by updating your quide. Just think it over.

I've been thinking it over for some time now. If I was to do something like that, I'd want to keep it hosted on my server still and I'd want the guide to retain it's current style and so forth.

That wouldn't be a problem. I am flexible.

OK, I think I will go ahead and do this, although I still need to think for a few days about exactly how to do it. I'd like you to basically finish the development work on QMR 3 first and see how that goes. Most of the work on it is already done, although you may want to make a few changes here and there as well as make sure all the software packages are the most recent versions. So I will probably start off by giving you access to the dev site and see how you do. You can start by finishing up the FreeBSD guide, followed by the Redhat (linux) guide. I'm not sure if I want to continue offering all the other flavors of the guide (debian, slackware, solaris etc) because quite frankly it's just too much to keep up with. I think I'd just rather have it be a FreeBSD & Linux guide and not get too bogged down in every flavor or linux out there. But I haven't decided yet on that. What I have decided on is that once the Redhat and Freebsd versions are complete I want the QMR 3 site to only have those 2 versions available until we figure out what to do with the other flavors. This way we can launch the new QMR 3 guide sooner and not have to wait for the other flavor guides to be done. Make sense? So, let me mull it all over for a couple more days and then we will most likely start with the dev site first, which will help me get a feel for what kind of a QMR administrator you will be. :)
As for the main site, I really don't want the look and feel of it to change very much and I would still like to have ultimate say in any major changes and so forth. But we can get to that later.
Thanks for volunteering. It's appreciated and I've actually had you in mind for some time. I really wish I had the time to devote to the site that I used to but I've come to realization that that part of my life is over and I'll never get that back 100%. I've got a wife and kid now, plus I've gotten very much into the model railroading hobby in the last few years, which eats up a lot of my free time. With all that plus the enormous amount of paying work that I have to do on a daily basis, it's been a real struggle to find the time to tend to the guide like I used to do. Anyway, I will touch base with you mid-week and we can get you ready to go on the dev site to start with.
Thanks,
Eric
