Hello!
I have a older Intel P4 2.4 Gig computer with 1 GB of ram, ATI 9250 128 MB AGP card and it has MS Windows 2000 PRO SP4 and all the latest MS Windows Updates. For an Anti Virus App... I have Symantec AntiVirus 10.1 and it is up to date.
I always have my computer on 24/7 and I restart it at least 2 times or more a week.
It has been always working fine... I have not reinstalled the OS sence sometime in the Spring of 2007 But today when I restarted it... It still loads up MS Windows But it only loads some of the apps down by the clock on the task bar and I can still move the mouse untill I click on something or click in the start menu...
So I restarted the computer and whent into Safe Mode and ran msconfig.exe and in the General Tab I selected: Diagnostic Startup - Load basic devices and services only. And then I restarted the computer and Then MS Windows 2000 PRO SP4 starts up and does not freeze at all.
So what I want to know is there a Program I can download that will log and tell me what app is making my computer freeze? (I dont want to have to go check and restart services 1 by 1 in msconfig it takes to long... there has to be a better quicker way)
