virt-manager -> create a new vm -> "Connect to host network"

choosing "Shared physical device" the "Device:" drop-down list is empty

If I hit forward, I get "Physical Device Required You must select one of the physical devices".

If I look in /root/.virt-manager/virt-manager.log I see:

CentOS 5.1 x86_64 on Dell PowerEdge (not sure of exact model, it is remote)
but the specs are: 2 x 2.50 Ghz Quad-Core Processors, 16 GB RAM

nearly bare install (have added gcc, gcc-c++, dhcpd, openntpd)

"yum update" reports no updates

SELINUX=disabled in /etc/selinux/config (and have rebooted)

any help would be greatly appreciated.
