Quote Interpretation
"To be great is to be misunderstood."

Great people aren't understood because common people don't think in the same way as them. Also, they have the guts to try new things and to speak their mind. The though process which takes place in the mind of a great person is what separates them from any normal being. Most people don't voice their opinions and go with the flow, but truly great people stand out and let others know what is on their mind.
For example, Jesus was a great person. His disobedience to obey the Lord made him stand out from all of the fearful people who obeyed the laws. Jesus spoke his mind and wasn't afraid to let people know when they were wrong. His social impact on the world has placed him in the "Book of Great People" in my mind. If there were such a book he'd be very close, if not, number one on the list. Jesus did not break any major rules, he just wouldn't follow rules or laws that strayed him away from his Lord; such as laws that made you worship someone else, like the king or some other important person.
Furthermore, Thomas Edison was an exceptionally bright person; however, many people thought he was crazy for the experiments that took place in his laboratory. People did not understand why someone would want to waste their time fusing pieces of glass and metal. However, after the invention of the lightbulb, he was a legend to all of society. Although, today people take lightbulbs for granted and have gone back to misunderstanding Edison.
Doctors on the other hand, save peoples lives everyday. The don't need to have a relation to someone to help them. This is what makes them great, because it doesn't matter what family background you have, or how much money you have, they'll still help you. People misunderstand them because doctors are very intelligent. Obviously someone with a medical degree is smart.Sometimes, something may be done by a doctor that you do not understand and may question. I figure, if it helps you, why bother asking questions?
Great people don't always have to be known, but you can definitely tell a great person from a normal one. They are not afraid to voice there opinion and they have the guts to standout and try new things. Honestly, a great person is what everyone in this universe should strive for. Economically, we'd be way better off and we would have closer relationships to everyone.
