my message gets made into a line of the irc protocol
which gets wraped in tcp
which gets wrapped in ip
which gets wraped in ethernet
which is sent to the router
it unwraps the ethernet/ip/tcp
then makes a new tcp/ip with a diff source(the main feature of a gateway)
and passes it out my dsl line
