hi everyone i'm having very strange problems with my FTP server (vsftpd). I'm running FC5.

Setup:
ISP > Router > LAN

In the LAN, specifically 10.0.0.2, lays the FTP server.

Router:
Port forwarding is enabled for ports 20-21. DMZ is enabled and 10.0.0.2 is in the DMZ.

The FC5 server actually works fine. I connect through SSL from the outside just fine. I don't have connection problems. However, when I try to connect to the FTP server, it's able to login, but when it asks for a directory listing, it takes forever. Within the LAN though it works. The problem is outside.

Here's the strange part: when I connect through command line in Windows (ftp server_ip_here), it works fine. I can get a directory listing, I can download. I can't use SmartFTP, FileZilla, or even a browser to view the FTP files.

Another strange part: this failing of directory listing for certain programs only happens at certain times, mostly at night (it's night now so it works), however, during the day, it doesn't.

I suspect it may be a bandwidth problem - maybe the other FTP programs such as SmartFTP require more information to be sent back and forth?

I have no clue.. I need your help!

Thanks
