<funky_c> mchua: Hey, I see you're having fun building opencore.
 :)
<mchua> Yeah, today was... not a particularly good day for testing
winbox hated our guts this morning
 jeff's computer died
(although blence said he'd try to get us a dedicated lousy windows machine for testing purposes, Monday)
<funky_c> Why'd you guys start creating a new build instead of testing stage?
<mchua> and then once we did get rolling on testing, stage went down for the new build
because stage is being upgraded to the new build
<funky_c> Ah, stage is down?
<mchua> yeah
 well, was anyway... *tries again*
aha! it's done building! (I think)
but jeff says "but I don't want to go back to testing right now"
(he's in the middle of reconfiguring his laptop, and I'm mid-build)
<funky_c> Hmmm... What did you guys do? Should we go over it?
 How were the charters?
<mchua> Hard?
Well, we didn't get to do ie testing because of the winbox borkedness
but we did some blog import testing
and found a couple of... perhaps not really bugs, but not particularly desirable behaviors
(private posts are shown as public, javascript can be inserted...)
but they're definitely not high priority
in the middle of that, stage went down for upgrading
<funky_c> Did you do anything on maps?
<mchua> and that effectively killed testing for the day - the reason I'm building now is that we wanted to have a place to reproduce things
Nothing new on maps came up today, no.
<funky_c> About having your own build: The development team is relying on us to evaluate how certain builds stack up.
If you can't effectively test something because it's not on the code, you should wait until they've given us a build for the next week.
Regression stuff should generally wait until Monday; for today, maps was supposed to be our focus.
 s/on the code/in the code/
<mchua> well, we're trying to reproduce #2281 on a local build so we can make a patch for it (bugfixing)
 right
<funky_c> Right. This is the tester hat/developer hat thing.
<mchua> but we didn't get to test maps today, because our original charter was "test ie"
<funky_c> We need you guys to be testers unless no testing is really going to get done.
Was it important that Jeff fixes the issue now?
Sorry, I apologize if I wasn't clear on what to do. I meant test IE within the mapping stuff.
<mchua> but to do that, we needed to get access to IE working on some computer. And winbox was being erratic, so we ended up not being able to do that.
No, no, no, it was clear... I think we knew what you meant, we just weren't able to figure out how to do it well before stage went down for rebuilding (and rendered all attempts at testing more or less nil)
