Okay, so you say I'm being irrational, thanks for the vote of confidence in my ability to reason things out, mate.
Let me ask you, why is it that 3 of 5 Admins didn't know a thing about this promotion until after it was done? JEFFSR notwithstanding, That still leaves Vix and myself who knew nothing of it. You could have held off long enough to get our opinions on it (What's 24 hours?), and frankly I'm shocked that you didn't at least tell Vix. And lest you forget, you promoted someone who couldn't get along with his superiors or take criticism from them, has a history of treating his subordinates with less than adequate respect, and didn't even bother to inform anyone that he was quitting, just demoted himself and left without a word. Whether he helped YeOK or not is irrelevant. As soon as I saw the message in IRC that the new site was up, I was there and working hard. There was nothing that could be done on Tazz's board, and no one had access to work on it.
You have taken it upon yourself to declare yourself the leader, and on top of that, you've told all of the staff that if they don't like things, they can leave. For someone who's declaring themselves the leader, that's not a leaderlike thing to say. Not to mention the fact that you've basically called everyone lazy and glory-hungry by saying no one but you is doing anything. The Mods can't post new forums, they can only Mod sections and participate in Staff discussions. Then there are the rest of us Admins, who just might be doing other things that you're not aware of, behind-the-scenes stuff. I've done a lot in terms of PR, trying to smooth over TPG's image, and to be a liaison in places where some are unwilling to do so. I also get plenty of PM's and speak to people regarding TPG business. Just because I'm not posting new site sections doesn't mean I'm not working on TPG. You know that I'm involved with SITR and TiT, as well as TPG, and I'm also acting as a staff consultant for Christian Torrents, helping them reorganize and move forward.
So, you bring in Inx, don't bother to tell anyone but the one person besides you whom you evidently think actually does work, and you tell everyone else to pack their bags if they don't agree with your decisions. The way I see it, you put yourself in an Admin Leader position when there is no such position on TPG. You might as well tell YeOK to create it and insert you there so you can have your official title. All I see is that you brought in someone who shares your hatred of p2pg and will assist you in being closed-minded about things. Don't assume I'm just hurling insults, take the time to realize that I'm calling it like I see it, based on plenty of observation. I'm smarter than some people give me credit for.
You've insulted everyone by calling them all lazy, and telling them to get lost, BA. You outright insulted Autotron and leveled a false accusation at him. I believe you also implied that I was trying to run a "good old boy" network. Is that the way you want TPG to be run? The bottom line here has nothing to do with Inx as a person, even though I dealt with him a lot more than you, and know his true makeup. My arguments are professional and ethical, not emotional and irrational. The standard you seem to be setting is far from the standard I believe TPG should uphold, and you will turn it into something untenable for those with integrity if you continue. I chose not to respond to you yesterday because I would have flamed you. I have known you a long time, and respect you, but the things you've said and done lately are things I cannot respect.
I set out with the idea that we could all make TPG better than it was, and mend some broken fences. However, it seems to me that you have no interest in doing either, or at least you have no interest in mending fences with those you don't like. I don't like a lot of people at TPG either, but I prefer to be diplomatic and present a face that makes it hard for them to argue their opinions. Do you? Does Inx? With you, I'm just not sure you care about that. With Inx, I KNOW he doesn't care about that. You say you brought him on because he will get things done. Well of course he will, he works from his home, never has to leave his PC! How fortunate for him. The rest of us don't have that luxury. You might have picked a winner for online time and for things posted for the forums, but you didn't pick a winner when it comes to dealing with people, and I sure hope you have a plan to overcome that.
Just to sum it up, you've tried to take a place that isn't yours to take, you've insulted and alienated pretty much all of the staff (Including Vix, since you said everyone has been lazy), and you've been making decisions on your own without following what should be proper procedure by discussing things with your peers. How you justify that is beyond me, and I'm personally insulted by all of it, for myself and on behalf of the rest of the staff. I won't relay things that have been spoken to me regarding the situation, because that would be breaking confidence, but rest assured, there are words from more than one or two people. They won't say anything to you, but I will. I wasn't kidding when I said I'll butt heads with anyone over what I believe is right, and I believe I'm right in chastizing you for ill behavior, worthy of some people who are known to be jerks. There's no need to say and do what you're saying and doing.
At the end of this, I'm relatively sure that this won't make a bit of difference to you, and certainly won't change any decision you've made, or elicit an apology for any of it. I really hope you can prove me wrong, BA, because I'd hate to think I've been wrong about you all this time. I thought the idea this time around was to make TPG different and better, but for all intents and purposes, it looks to me (and others) like that's the furthest thing from your mind. I'll be expecting a flame in return, but I hope I'm wrong about that too.
