- I did
- modprobe snd-pcm-oss
- modprobe snd-mixer-oss
- sudo echo "quake3 0 0 direct" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss
- No complaints. I type
- quake3
- No sound. Quake 3 reports:
- ------- sound initialization -------
- aoss: No such file or directory
- Could not open aoss
- ------------------------------------
- Sound memory manager started
- cat /proc/asound/cards
- gives:
- 0 [UA1EX ]: USB-Audio - UA-1EX
- EDIROL UA-1EX at usb-0000:00:02.1-3, full speed
- 1 [UM1 ]: USB-Audio - UM-1
- EDIROL UM-1 at usb-0000:00:02.0-3, full speed
- The one labeled 0 is the sound card, 1 is my other usb device: a midi interface.
- How do I make Quake 3 understand to find the kernel oss?
