Hello again,
The chatting is up to you, we're not forcing you to do so. As for the calling: Someone will call you in the morning (between 10AM and 2PM). I've arranged for him to answer some questions and basically talk to you.
All of us speak and write English fluently. Most of us are Flemish, some of us are French and some of us are bilingual (like me).
Now, the questions:
- First of all: We are not an organisation. If anyone wants to understand us, they have to know we can’t be labelled under the word “organisation”. Anonymous is a huge collective comprising thousands individuals all over the world united by an awareness that someone must do the right thing, that someone must bring light to the darkness, that someone must open the eyes of a public that has slumbered for far too long. I don’t want to sound cheesy but: “We are everywhere.” Every nationality, every country, all ages, all over the place. I’m willing to bet you can find an Anonymous in almost every single profession.
- “We”, as in the persons you’ll be meeting on Sunday, are all Belgian. But, Anonymous in its whole is spread all over the world. There are Anonymous in every single country of the world.
- You have to understand the level of “connection” we have going on at the moment. We are so mobilised, building off on momentum. Yes, we have contact with other groups of people out there. But, we’re all uniting under the same ideals. You have groups like Operation Clambake, people like Mark Bunker. Everyone is connected to everyone. It’s hard to explain but there’s some kind of global realization, a global feeling, amongst Anonymous. We all realize where to find the info, we all realize where we’re going and we all know exactly what’s happening.
- The concept of “Anonymous” has been around for at least 5 years now. We all find each other all over the Internet, in forums, chats, IRC, MSN, imageboards. But, if you’re talking about the recent events: we never really “found” each other. We knew about each other, we realized it, we assumed it and we just met because of the whole Scientology deal. “Anonymous” is such a loose concept, but at the same time it’s like a brotherhood, an online brotherhood of people who share the same ideals.
- Our motivation, in THIS case, comes from the fact that we will not tolerate that something like Scientology allows itself to ignore the freedom of speech and tries to copyright the entire Internet. A video of Tom Cruise was leaked into the Internet, in which he explained about scientology in a very very scary way (àhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4O2_rZIgrQI) and Scientology threatened Youtube and requested that the video was deleted because of copyright infringement. We, as a collective, heard of this and we all realized this could not be tolerated. Things were set into motion and before you knew it you had tens of thousands of people all over the Internet, mobilizing under the same flag.
- Scientology has been attacked by an Internet group before, but not by us. I don’t think they’ve ever faced Anonymous in anything. Scientology has been dealing with real life corporations and critics up until now.
- I’m sure that somewhere in the world the lawyers of Scientology are already preparing their paperwork on us, so they can try and sue as many Anonymous as possible. But they’ll fail. They can’t sue what they can’t grasp. We are everywhere. If they sue one of us, ten more will come up and fight even harder to get the truth out. That is why we are Anonymous. We are a collective of individuals.
- You have to realize that their principle of networking is based on those charity programs, anti-drug programs and group “sessions”. That is how they attract new “believers”. They offer “innovation” help and special techniques, things that are supposed to be far superior to psychiatric help and medicine. So yes, it’s all bullshit (pardon my language, but I always get aggravated at this point). They teach you nothing that you can’t teach yourself or find on the Internet or learn from other self-aid groups that DON’T require you to pay thousands of dollars or euros.
- Of course. Scientology is a business, an evil corporation. They will do anything to get you hooked. And, they’ve been doing a pretty effective job up until now. This is how it works: They set up “shell” organisations (=fake) like Criminon (a rehabilitation project for criminals) and Sea Org. These organisations or “Orgs” will be their fronts, their centres within the communities. There you will be able to receive all kinds of “help”, “advice” and “learn about yourself”. All the basic elements of sect-networking are present.
- You are right, fortunately. Scientology isn’t that big here. HOWEVER, it does have its European Head Quarters here in Brussels, in de Wetstraat. Which means that Belgium is of relevance to them and they might have plans for the future. But Scientology is such a global threat that it doesn’t matter that they’re not so represented here.
- Yes, I am aware of that. But you and I know that this is nowhere near a guarantee. Scientology is a global threat, as I said before. Belgian Justice will make a case out of it but that does not mean we are all safe. This is a dangerous cult, stretching far into law enforcement and Justice, without a doubt. As long as Scientology isn’t completely dis-empowered, we will not reveal any identity, which is logical if you ask me. How do I see the role of Anonymous in this specific case? Well, I think Sunday will be remembered as a day where someone actually stood up. A group of people, complete strangers to each other in real life, united and stood up to a big and dangerous organisation. I hope that someone in the department of Justice will notice this, or the Media making a big deal out of it, so that it will further ignite the spark that is fighting the darkness of Scientology at the moment.
- Believe me when I say it is absolutely necessary for Anonymous to stay anonymous. Scientology is a dangerous cult. It has killed before, it will kill again. They’re known for their techniques of harassment, throughout the world. They’re not afraid of going around in your neighbourhood, telling your neighbours you are a paedophile or a rapist. They’re not afraid to call you at work, or your boss, or get you in trouble. They’ll trace your phone calls, hack your computers, steal information, spread lies about you, create fake crimes against you, stalk you, protest outside of your house, kill your pets, tell your school that you’re a criminal. They’ll do everything in their power to silence you. Trust me, there’s enough proof out there that backs up everything I just summarised, even to the extent of killing your pets to scare you. Anonymity is vital to fight Scientology.
- The red tie is actually part of the symbol of Anonymous: A black suit, without a face, with a red tie. You can find this logo if you Google it, if I remember correctly. As far as I am aware, the red tie just symbolizes who we are and why we’re there, as a unified front against their criminal activities and gross violations against human rights.
I hope you’re satisfied with these answers. But I would really like to stress that Anonymous is not an organization. We have no leaders, we have no controlling body. We’re an entity, sharing the same ideals and wishes, guided by the same outrage against Scientology and their violations against our human rights. Anonymous is everyone and nobody. Anonymous is everywhere and nowhere.
We're looking forward to your next email and you'll be called tomorrow before 2PM!
Yours truly,
Anonymous
