: Candidates, what do you think of the idea of making potential CO candidates take the CO course and pass before making them CO of a ship?

Hi, Jen again!
This all gets back to something that is central to our platform: this is a club of volunteers. While Jack and I both consider the CO course to be essential in the training of new COs and we will take into account the completion of the course as a sign of training and dedication, we won't require it at this stage. It is there as a resource, not a requirement. Once we have seen it being used and its effect, then we'll see about taking things further.
Thanks!
Sarah
