: As this is a site about role playing how many ships are you currently involved in? Playing a character on? Either CO or XO of? Hold a DH position on? Play the part of GM on?
I'm currently involved on six ships, which is a good load for me.
USS Valkyrie (Fleet One): I'm GMing the Valkyrie, as well as serving as her counselor and a science junior officer. My counselor there is one of my favorite characters, being the most unique. I'm sure that the crew of the Valkyrie would have different things to say about her (she did tell one of them to suck it up and get over a problem!). <G>
USS Atlantis (Fleet Three): I'm the CO of the Atlantis. My character, Fleet Captain Katelyn Jacobs, on the Atlantis is one of my long-term characters. She started as the COS of the USS Hawking back in May 2002! She did a little rank jumping to Captain on the USS Olympic in August 2002 and then Fleet Captain on the USS Atlantis in May 2005.
USS Alliance (Fleet Four): I'm the Chief of Security on the Alliance. My character there has a somewhat amusing history. I've served as COS of the Challenger for six missions in the past five years, none of them consecutive. This poor character has been the one to come back every time. Finally, after my last mission on the Challenger, I was appointed her CO and decided that it was safe for Elizabeth to become COS of the Alliance instead.
Oed V (Fleet Six): I'm the Lieutenant Governor of Oed V, which is basically an XO position. It currently doesn't count toward any limits; however, that will be changed in the new charter due out shortly. My character, Commander Allison Ruddock, is one of my most well-developed characters. I started with her as an Ensign on the USS Endeavor in August 2001. Since then, she worked her way through the ranks (she hasn't skipped one yet!) on a variety of different ships, including Fleet 6's OOC Starbase at one point. <G> She's also my first character to get married and have children!
USS Challenger (Academy): I'm the CO of the Challenger. My character there is one of my newest ones, a psychologist-turned-command-officer. I'm having a lot of fun with her, though, and she's got quite the motherly streak for all her new cadets!
USS Columbia (Academy): I'm the GM of the Columbia.
So, let's see, that brings me up to six ships, two GM positions, two CO positions, one XO position, one DH position, and six characters. I'm very devoted to my characters and most of them have lengthy backgrounds. Take a look at http://www.lsdasha.net/stf/characters if you want to read some of them!

: Based off the last two PDept reports as well as Census reports the membership of STF is in a state of decline. Can you all tell me what you feel would be the best thing to do to get more members to join STF?

: Thanks,
: Eddie
Jack and I feel that our first step to stopping the decline in membership is to keep the members we already have. In the past few terms, there has been an incredible turnover in ship crews, which is not only bad for member retention, but bad for the ships in general. We aim to isolate the reason for this turnover. We believe that, while the real life monster does have an effect, the lack of support and training creates burnt out players. We will ensure that these members have the right tools to not only succeed at their positions in STF, but to enjoy them, as well as the support they need to get through times when real life interferes. Having happy, skilled role-players is the first step to finding and retaining new members, as these are the first people they are going to encounter in the club, as well as the people who can really get our name out there.
Jack and I will encourage members to feel as though they can have their friends take a look at the club and possibly join it. We will invite members to provide the names of other clubs they're a member of so that we can persue banner exchanges. And, getting back to training and support, we'll make sure that the new members who join have the easiest time possible at getting involved in STF, both as a role-player and more (if they want!).
Thanks for your question, Eddie!
