For questions regarding the rules of this site, please direct them to a staff member, or one of the adminstrators. A full listing of staff and administrators can be found here.

Let's review the forum rules. These rules apply to every forum on this site. Please read them carefully.

1. Absolutely no talk about pirating/copying the game. There will be no discussion about pirating this title. Do not ask where to download it, do not offer URLs to wares or cracks. Posts of that nature will be deleted.

NOTE: Requesting/posting cracks/cd-keys will result in instant smiting by bunnies.

2. Be polite. Please post civilly. Speak to others as you would if they were standing in front of you - the anonymity of the net is not an excuse for poor manners and jerk-like conduct.

3. Please post answers to questions, not just URLs. If a question is asked, do not answer by posting just a URL to your website. Answer a few points and then provide a URL for more information if necessary.

4. Advertise in the appropriate forum. Nothing wrong with posting your website (World of Warcraft related is preferred but not necessary) but please do so in the provided forum. We don't want to clutter the board with ads.

5. Do not ask to become a moderator, game master, or administrator. These positions are never given out by asking. We pick only trusted, active, and helpful members of Kelvin's World only.

6. This is not a democracy. As much as we try to accommodate everyone, this is not a democracy. Think of it as a benevolent dictatorship. Peace, friendliness, and intelligent discussion will be maintained here at all costs. If we feel the need to censor, close, or delete threads, we will do so. You have the right to speak freely, but if you disturb other people, we have the right to shut you up.

7. Do not revive threads after they have dropped to the later pages. If a thread isn't replied to and drops to a later page, please do not revive the thread. They are not needed and break the fluency of the forums.

8. Any username containing profanities (swears) or offensive words will be removed immediately without notification.

9. No flaming or rude replies. If you don't want to help new members with their questions, don't post. Violators will be sternly disciplined.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now let's review Forum Etiquette. Following these guidelines will increase the chances of your post being viewed and replied to. In certain cases, mods and admins are at liberty to break any of these guidelines for good reason - usually.

1. DO NOT POST YOUR TOPICS IN ALL CAPS. IT'S VERY ANNOYING. This should go without saying, but it needs to be said.

2. Do not type in abbreviations or overuse netspeak. While most netspeak is universal, let's try to use full words and sentences when possible. #337$p34|{ 1$ 3$p3(14##% 4||||0%1||9 (Leetspeak is especially annoying).

3. Proper grammar and spelling are appreciated. If you are an able English-speaking member, please type in proper English and avoid overuse of netspeak abbreviations. Likewise, please be patient with non-English speaking members trying to write in English.

4. Do not post topics with meaningless or undescriptive subjects. I.e., "Help!", "Why?", and "!!!!" are not useful subjects and you will likely not get many reviews or responses.

5. Do not post topics with misleading subjects. Your subject says one thing, but your post is something else entirely. Don't pull the "Now that I have your attention" trick.

6. Do not abuse punctuation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Not only is it ugly, it disrupts the layout of the pages. Keep your punctuations under control.

7. Likewise, do not abuse smileys. angry.gif Spamming smileys are bad for the same reasons as spamming punctuation.

8. Subjects should be short, to the point, and concisely describe your post. There is no need to post a paragraph for your subject line and in your body say "see subject." Not cool.

9. It's frowned upon to continuously bump your own threads. If no one is posting to it, you can assume there's no interest, so let it die.

10. Do not double-post. In most cases, you can edit your previous post to include any additional comments.

11. Do not post a follow-up post just to say you spelled something wrong or correct a typo. Use the Edit Post feature to edit your own posts.

12. Avoid "me too" replies. These replies add nothing to the post and are frowned upon.

13. Stay on topic. If someone is asking about how to build an effective priest talent build, do not post saying "I hate priests, I never play them." It is irrelevant and not helpful to the topic.

14. Post in the proper forum. There are plenty of forums to cover your topics. Find the right one and post there. A moderator will move it for you if you don't get it, but please make an effort to find the right one. It will make our jobs easier.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that you've read the forum rules and know basic forum etiquette, it's time to create your first post. But before you begin, read over these guidelines.

1. Read the forum rules.

2. Know the Kelvin's World Forum Etiquette.

3. If you have a question, search for your answer. Kelvin's World has been here for quite a while so your question has most likely been asked already. To avoid the "Use the search, *****!" replies, please at least make an attempt to find what you're looking for with the search tool.

4. Introduce yourself. Say hello. Let us get a chance to know you a bit.

5. Be polite. Sounds simple, but you'll get back only as much respect as you put in.

6. Read all of the pinned threads. Sounds like a lot of reading, but it really isn't all that much.

Now you're ready to post your first thread.

One more item -- a safety precaution

It is no secret that we are concerned about the safety of the kids here. Most people here are cautious enough and aware enough to avoid getting into real life trouble but, unfortunately, there are people in the world who like to prey upon kids. So, just to be clear, let's review a few points:

1. Do not give out personal information such as your full name, address, telephone number, the school you attend, or any other information that may assist people in locating you in real life.

2. Do not agree to meet, in real life, with anyone you know from the internet, unless you have a trusted adult with you.

3. If you feel uncomfortable with any interaction with another person on this site, let an admin know. We do not tolerate having people prey upon the kids here.

We will not hesitate to ban anyone making threats or anyone who appears to pose a danger, especially to the kids. Please let us know if you encounter any such behavior.

The concern here is protecting the kids. We are not attempting to control how adults interact with each other.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now you're ready to be a productive member of our community. We hope you enjoy the site as much as we do.
