richjkl: What's all this life stuff to you?
Dr Snow Nigra, PhD: I have money
Dr Snow Nigra, PhD: Money is pretty cool
richjkl: No
richjkl: I asked what life was to you
richjkl: not some abstraction we've come up with
Dr Snow Nigra, PhD: Life is a series repetitions that we repeat until we're bored out of our skulls. we grow for twenty years, work for fourty-five, retire for another twenty. And the entire time, we're not enjoying it
Dr Snow Nigra, PhD: If we're lucky enough, we'll see singularity in our lifetimes.
richjkl: Heh
Dr Snow Nigra, PhD: So in other words? I'm a bitter person.
Dr Snow Nigra, PhD: WHERE IS YOUR WITTY I-TOLD-YOU-SO remark
richjkl: what
richjkl: oh I went to take a shit
Dr Snow Nigra, PhD: ...well that sort of counts
richjkl: But really
richjkl: I don't see how people don't look at the world at its different levels
richjkl: Sure, you can think of the world in the terms of "oh do boring shit until you get enough money to survive and continue to do so until you die"
richjkl: but what else are we?
richjkl: We're all living organisms. We grow just like any plant does. We're the physical manefestations of our genetic code. Physics compiles our DNA into proteins and other chemicals which work together to perpetuate their existance.
richjkl: But some times life is more like Sim City
richjkl: sometimes people think about problems in the terms of "what's the range of this fire station"
richjkl: You can even apply that sort of model to anything, really
richjkl: what's the territory of the opossum in my back yard? My cats?
richjkl: Sure, even people have their own territories, but they're more geometric, supported by other abstractions even
richjkl: But when it comes down to it
richjkl: we're nothing more than a chemical film on the surface of a rock
richjkl: and yet we have all of these flowing systems
richjkl: these big arrangements, heirarchies
richjkl: governments, appropriating wealth, redistributing resources
richjkl: and when you look at those abstractions at just the right angle
richjkl: you see how biological they are too
richjkl: even if we trick ourselves into thinking how "above nature" we are with our skyscrapers
richjkl: we're no better than a city of ants
richjkl: and yet we bicker
richjkl: incessantly
richjkl: "well we're going to blow you up!!"
richjkl: And I guess, sometimes, maybe that's necessary, but I wonder
richjkl: do the people that have all of this power really have such childish characters?
richjkl: Why do we perpetuate "I was randomly born in this landmass, I'M BETTER THAN YOU"?
richjkl: but I dunno Colin
richjkl: don't know what you're doing
richjkl: don't know what you're thinking
richjkl: don't even know if you're reading
Dr Snow Nigra, PhD: I WAS SCROLLING
Dr Snow Nigra, PhD: BECAUSE EVERY TIME YOU TYPE
Dr Snow Nigra, PhD: IT GOES BACK TO THE BOTTOM
richjkl: lol @ msn
Dr Snow Nigra, PhD: my mind hurts
richjkl: why?
Dr Snow Nigra, PhD: your text bored a hole into my head
Dr Snow Nigra, PhD: And made me think
Dr Snow Nigra, PhD: it's.. beautiful
