I wanted to wish you a happy Birthday, but that's cliche. I wanted to get you a present, but I owe you enough to not warrant spending money that's not going toward my debt to you. I wanted to give you words of wisdom, but I find myself respecting your words more than my own now.
So I give you a note for the moment.
You're an amazing human being. You're smart, you're nice, you're funny, and you have a lot to offer this world. They're not even ready for you yet. You should relish every day for the opportunities it places in front of you, and relish the fact that you have choices in your life many people do not.
You're in College, you're getting your education. You're determined. You're living and alive. You're making new friends, and keeping old ones strong. You're learning and growing every day, and I thank God for putting you in my life for me to learn from. Even teachers learn, Alex, and what I've taught and shared with you has taught me new things, and I owe you more than money... I owe you a great deal of grattitude for stepping up and making your presence in my life very well known.
God has great things in store for you. You're a golden child of God, and you don't even realize it yet. You're going to Wow this World, and they are going to recognize you for the greatness God has bestowed on you. All it takes is faith and confidence. Take every day as your own. You own the world. It's yours for the taking, like your own money that's in the bank. It does nyou no good until you reach out and grab it.
