<rainabba> On EFNET is it widely accepted that chanOps can do whatever they please (like regularly kicking someone just because they have a personal issue with them)?
<rob> more or less, yes
<rainabba> That's a shame. I love IRC, but it could use a bit more class and allowing abusive ops to behave like that doesn't strengthen the network or make it more appealing to the talent that makes it what it is (despite the abuse and annoyance it has suffered from for so many years).
<rainabba> Just so it's not left unsaid, in case I'm not the first to have a complaint: my beef is with makk. I'm regularly kicked out of #css because I won't submit to his "power". He would likely say that I'm disrespectful, but the reality is that the "@" isn't going to keep me from standing my ground or prevent me from sticking up for myself.
<rainabba> For what ever that's worth; thanks for hearing me out.
<rob> yep, no one loves a power trip on or off irc
<rob> unfortunately when anyone has any kind of power, it tends to go to peoples heads
* rainabba nods
<rainabba> Any measures observed to keep those types in check what-so-ever?
<rainabba> I don't mean to sound cocky with that question, my applogies if I do.
<rob> not really, the design of this network allows for that
<rainabba> I never see that sort of behavior on FreeNode. How is it avoided there?
<rob> i do not know
<rainabba> Not much more to say then I guess. #css is degraded and it will remain that way :(
<rainabba> Again, thanks for your time.
<rob> no problem
