People often forget that college is, in a way, only the beginning. Only once you receive your education do you start life in the "real world." The knowledge and experience people gain through college greatly impacts their lives after they complete their educations. Sometimes people forget that compared to the rest of their lives, four years in college is a very short period of time. However, much of our intelligence and character is cultivated during this time period because of the new challenges, in both academics and in life. The experiences and lessons learned in the classroom help prepare us for our future lives and careers. This is the reason why it is very important to gain admission into a good college where you will receive the proper education to prepare you for life. Gaining admission to NYIT is essential in allowing me to pursue my career goals and make my dreams a reality. The education I will receive at NYIT will greatly increase my chances of achieving my goal of becoming a medical doctor. I decided I wanted to be a doctor a few years ago and I know gaining admission into the BS/DO program will help me succeed as a doctor. After I become a doctor, I want to do several other things to give back to the community. I want to set up scholarships for students at NYIT who are also pursuing medical careers. Another thing I would also like to do, is set up free health clinics in India so that people can receive the medical attention they need without any restraints. This is something I really want to do because my family is originally from India and I want to give people the opportunity to receive medical care that they wouldn’t have access to otherwise.
