Miscellany

Right now on my blog homepage only one post is displayed. I would like to know how to see several posts.
I've gone to options > reading and in the box to the right of "Show at most:" the number of posts is 10. I thought that would increase the number of posts showing but it does not. Do I need to to anything else?

Thank you!
