#Quick way to restart speechd-up and speech-dispatcher.
#Most useful when speech dies for some reason and you can't tell what your doing.
#One command will save you typing 4 commands.
#Note you must have sudo installed and working for this script to work.
#If you don't have sudo but can use root.
#Remove the sudo part from each line.
#Then run as root.

#Also Replace the line "exec speakup_settings"
#with your speakup bash script that will write your setting values to the speakup files in proc.
#I use this in combination with speakup since I use software speech

echo "Restarting speechd-up and speech-dispatcher"

/etc/init.d/speechd-up stop
/etc/init.d/speech-dispatcher restart
/etc/init.d/speechd-up start

#I have found we must restart speechd-up twice.
#Otherwise the script must be ran twice.
#Remember if you don't have sudo modify the lines above properly!!!
#exec speakup_settings
#Uncomment the above line and replace with the path to your bash script to set speakup settings.
#If your script isn't in your path you may do:
#/exec /home/username/speakup-settings.
#Don't comment it out of course.
#Since my speakup script is in my path exec speakup_settings will do
#End of script
