Zn(s) + 2NaOH(aq)+H2(g)
Zn(s)+2Na^+(aq) + 2OH^- (aq) -> 2Na+(aq) + ZnO2-2(aq) + ZnO2-2(aq) + H2(g) 

Procedure: 
1)	Clean penny
2)	Make 25mL of 6M NaOH(aq)
3)	Add small scoop Zn to beaker; add NaOH
a.	Place two pennies in solution, cover with watch glass and heat gently.
4)	Clean off pennies (deionized water, etc.)
5)	Briefly heat 1 penny over flame.  Stop by dropping penny in cold water.
