<GodEater_> sendfirm sends *something* to the player - but rebooting it makes no visible difference
<GodEater_> it just goes straight back into WinCE
<GodEater_> for the record, in case anyone can spot what I'm doing wrong, this is the sequence I've done :
<GodEater_> mtp-sendfile of freshly built rockbox.gigabeat (for the S of course, not the F/X) to the device
<GodEater_> then built the bootloader
<GodEater_> then run mknkboot /home/me/original_nk.bin /home/me/rockbox/build-gbs/nk.bin new_nk.bin
<GodEater_> and finally sendfirm new_nk.bin
<GodEater_> at which point the S resets itself
<GodEater_> and then plonks itself straight back to the Windows PMP front end
<GodEater_> mtp-files shows three files on the device : DevIcon.fil, DevLogo.fil and rockbox.gigabeat, in that order.
<GodEater_> It's impossible to delete the first two - they just get re-created
<GodEater_> ridicule/instructions welcome at this point
<GodEater_> oh I even tried this with a "turn it on with left and windows button held" to wipe the old firmware out
