crogers5423: Okay, here’s the fixes I used to get sara to compile for me that I’ve recommended to a few people. Feel free to forward this to anyone else who is having problems. Follow Dr. Wallace’s directions up to the make (gtar the file, enter the directory, and run the ./configure command). After configure completes, edit the Makefile (nano Makefile) and change SSHSTATE=YES to SSHSTATE=NO. The –with-ssl=no option should have fixed that, but it didn’t for some reason. After that, enter the directory sara-7.4.2/src/perl-pm/libwww-perl. Edit build.sh, and verify that last two lines are cp commands (should be cp w/ some wildcards). Remove those lines (cut them out, or delete them), and then save the file. Go back to the main directory (sara-7.4.2) and run make. If it finishes with no errors, run make install. Once that’s done verify it built by going into the sara directory you made and run ./sara (no params). It should load up fine. You can then press Q to quit. After that, you just need to use SU with the root password to get a root prompt and then run the command he gave us in class. Done! If you have any problems, just shoot me an e-mail Christopher Rogers
