Great job, Roman! Can you confirm that you took
http://lisas.de/~andi/acx100/acx-20070101.tar.bz2 as the base?
I also did quick research where acx driver development stands
now, and see that "official" is too loud word here. It appears that
there's at least 3 versions here:
1. Original one, link above.
2. Port to softmac 802.11 stack (acxsm). It is expected that this version
would allow WPA support. http://195.66.192.167/linux/acx_patches/ .
3. Port to devicescape stack, announced here:
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.drivers.acx100/1172 . This was
already reported to work with WPA, though alpha status otherwise. It
seems it's no longer reachable.
Finally, there's following interesting message:
http://lkml.org/lkml/2006/6/29/143
There was no response to that message, so as we know, tiacx is
not in mainline. Link in that message doesn't work, but here's
another: http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/linville/wireless-2.6/tiacx/
So, it's softmac-based version, maintained by wireless tree and
updated pretty regular, it seems. I wonder, if we should rebase to
this version after all?
Either way, upgrade to this patch would be first step, but
there's concern that it would break something or some devices. Can you
(or somebody else) propose some kind of test script which users of
different devices can walk thru, so we all were sure that update works
well? By script I mean not program, but some sequence like:
