once upon a time, there were 3 young children, living in a cottage in the country side. They were called Rosie, Tosie, and Skip! One day when they were playing outside in their back yard, they saw an old, hunch back lady walk past their house.
"Wow!" gasped Rosie "Look at that old lady! She looks like a witch!"
"Yeah!" exclaimed Tosie "We better get inside! Or she'll turn us into a toad!"
And so, the terrified three tumbled into their house and banged the door shut behind them. "Whew! That was close!" said Skip as he pushed a chair up to the window to peer out at the old lady.
"Whats with all the noise?" a voice sounded from behind the three. It was their mother.
"That witch nearly caught us and turned us into toads!" said Tosie as she pointed at the old lady.
"Ha ha, you kids" giggled Mom. "Mrs. Edmunds isn't a witch, she's just a normal old lady"
"Well she doesn't look it!" Argued Rosie "She's got a great big lump on her back!"
"That's just because she's getting old" said Mom "I tell you what, why dont we all go and pay her a visit? She doesn't live far from here and the company could do her good"
and off they went to the old ladys house. When they arrived there, Mom tapped on the door and stood back. The children his behind Mom, scared! As the door swung open, the face of the old lady appeared. Followed by her arms, her body, and her legs.
"Why hello! How nice to see you!" said Mrs. Edmunds "Please, do, come in! I've got a nice pot of tea on the stove and some cookies in the oven!"
And with that, the children couldn't wait to get in! The children laughed, and played with Mrs. Edmunds for hours and hours untill finally, Mom said it was time to leave.
On the way home, Skip said "Well, i guess she wasn't a witch after all!" And the children skipped on home and went straight to bed with the taste of Mrs. Edmunds lovely cookies in their mouth.
