You have to do the installation on your windows machine and select single users.
once done start notes for the first time and select no to the question "do you want to create a welcome page"
On your linux machine have wine and winetools installed.
lunch wt for winetools and select create a fake windows drive, then installe true type front arial, then dcom98, then microsoft foundation classes.
run winecfg and be sure that your global setting are set as win98
Now you can copie the directory notes located in your program file to your linux machine under "/home/"username"/.wine/fake_windows/Program Files/lotus/" Once you are done you should have something like this "/home/username/.wine/fake_windows/Program Files/lotus/notes" as on your windows machine.
Copie to your linux machine under fake_windows/windows/system32 3 dll from your windows machine called : mfc42.dll mfc42u.dll and
msvcp60.dll locate under c:/Windows/system32/mfc42.dll
remove/rename usp10.dll.so under /usr/lib/wine/
you can now run notes :D
