Hello,
The past month i have meditated alot upon my purpose on IRC. I had moments
when i though 'i worked alot, made friends, it would be a waste to leave',
but i also had moments when i was thinking rationally, and i said to myself
'my education counts alot more than my IRC position'. I'm sorry i'm leaving,
but I do this for multiple reasons:
1) I've worked hard to get where i am now, no one gave me my * access as a
gift as it happened in others' cases, and all these things can be checked in
logs showing my activity as a newcomer and trainee, and my dedication as an
official.
2) Everything is politics. DinTn is politics, xplora is politics, Leo is
politics. When politics intervenes in a voluntary-based organization, the
coordinator becomes the boss, and the members become replaceable dummies
without any sort of regret.
In CService, if something's not ok with you, no one cares, you're free to
leave because there are plenty more waiting for the chance to ruin
everything you've struggled to build. The amount of work you put into it
loses its value and you can leave and surely no one will be sorry.
3) When i said that it's ilogic for officials or even trainees to post a
purge application for their own channel, i based my statement on an example:
the manager of a restaurant surely doesn't pay for the things he orders. And
without any bit of shame, i was told 'you're not the manager of the
restaurant, you just work there'- this telling me that we do indeed have a
boss. What about opers, how are they allowed to have 3 channels? Only they
have rights and no obligations? How is it they can instantly get what they
request? Or the people that make a circus in cservice, how can they have
their channels registered by the minute and members can't?
Since i joined Regteam, channel applications haven't ever been closed. You
can check if it's because of me or not. Well then, i won'tallow a
coordinator (which doesn't know that not all rejected channels are
automatically noregged for 3 days) to disgrace the work that i do, and treat
me with a superiority which he is not in title to have.
4) xplora would have been a great coordinator together with Bob, but perhaps
the ego's too big to share the power with someone else. I'm not leaving
because Bob left, or sammy, or anyone else that has left. If i wanted to do
that, i would have done it when they left. Although i have little free time,
i'd like to keep dedicating it doing applications, helping users etc, but i
won't continue sacrificing my time working like a slave for 1 person that
doesn't respect you.
5) Everyone acts as if being an official/admin/coordinator on IRC means
you're God. And from this superior attitude come the ass kisses of the
smaller in rank, and the problems related to good manners and respect.
I repeat, i am sorry that i have to leave this way, but i tried the
communication method,and it failed. I'm sending this e-mail and i don't want
any reply to any list. My e-mail will remain Kogito@gmail.com for those of
you that know keeping in touch is worth it. For those of you that have
teached me something, i thank you. I haven't had fights with no one, aside
from temporary ones that i'm sure have passed. Atleast i can't remember any,
and i don't ever want to. It's not important that some of you disappointed
me, but i keep thinking, if you're so
hypocritical on IRC, then what kind of human beings are you in the real
life? Surely people of the most dangerous kind, people you want to keep away
from. Think about it and get real. It's IRC, but we're the same.
On the other hand, i'm not sending this e-mail because i want your pity or
compassion, i don't need it. I'm a normal human being, dignified, with a
bright future ahead of me, with a family and friends to admire, and i don't
expect anyone to feel sorry that i'm leaving. I'mpositive that after i
leave, i'll be quickly unsubscribed from the lists, all my access' deleted,
and xplora will smile happily and relieved as if nothing happened. But why
am i surprised? I'm surprised for him, because we all are nothing on IRC. If
this continues to happen, in maximum 2 years CService will become what it
has already started to become, a place where people with real-life social
integration problems will come and blindly manifest their alleged 'power',
acting according to the rules of the jungle: "the bigger fish eats the
smaller fish".
PS: I wish to keep my username in case i will ever want to come online
sometimes.
Good bye.
