The HTS proposal:
This proposal affects hackthissite.org and many other sites hosted by it.
This proposition is based on the idea that Zod will be hosting things.
IRC:
IRC will be run by one of the current opers, hosted on zod's server
There will be the same opers, channel ops and rules.
Zod, Nightquest, O-day and Wired would also have oper.
At a later point other servers might link with their own opers, we will keep our services.
The amount of global opers on the other server will be limited to 2 per server.
If any oper abuse is noticed towards users of a different server this should be dealt ASAP. (removing said oper if needed)
OPERS DO NOT HAVE ANY SAY IN CHANNELS, the job of an IRC Operator is not to deal with channel affairs but with server things.
Its the channelops job to maintain a channel, an oper will act if they can't handle it or are unavailable.
Each channel has their own sets of rules desided by the channel owner, opers do not have any say in this (unless it goes against a server rule, ex: no racism, no kiddyporn etc etc)
Hosting:
Each site will be seperated from the others to prevent bad coding in one site to create problems for others.
Things will mainly be hosted on the NSA server.
Money:
Money made by HTS stays with hts, it goes to the community. This means more hardware etc etc and saving some money for a rainy day (and we have had plenty of those)
It will be kept by a trusted member of staff.
DNS:
Silent-Shadow would be in control of the domain
The devs control the DNS, and can point the DNS to the correct places.
Management:
Each of the projects (HTS, HB, CS, etc) will have 1 person in charge of it, who will have root to the jail(or whatever) it is in and is in charge of hireing staff etc.
That person will stay whoever it is right now.
If someone wants a big change then there should be a meeting about it FIRST where the community can comment on it.
HTS will not leave without 30 days notice. Hosting will not go away without 30 days notice.
Devs only get ssh if they are qualified (www.brainbench.com or something similar)
