"Mellinium"
* It's Millennium.

"There is third party software that runs better than Aero and uses less resources (WindowsBlinds)"
* The resources used are about the same between the two.

"The first thing I speak of is that the update of device drivers, no matter what will cause Vista to deactivate"
* It only occurs when changing hardware, not with updating drivers. XP had a similar "feature" so this is not a big change.
* You get 10 re-activations then you have to contact Microsoft and they may allow you to activate it after that, which from past experience is usually pretty painless.
* Even if you don't activate Vista, it will still boot up and run. Just some "features" will be disabled.

"The second biggest problem I see in mind is that Vista will start using the hard drive more than the RAM."
* This is false, Vista caches far more in RAM than previous versions.

"But what makes it worse for laptop is that RAM uses up less electricity than a hard drive, thus draining your battery quicker."
* False, the RAM has to have constant voltage in order to maintain the stored data; a hard drive has a power saving mode which allows the hard drive to spin down and use minimal voltage when it's not being used.
* What's draining the battery is the CPU and graphics card usage, not so much the hard drive.

"the reason I will not use Vista is that things take up more space, whether it be using RAM or using virtual memory, than they should. I need all this extra RAM"
* Virtual memory usage is not fat from that XP so it's not worth mentioning; also you're talking about RAM so bringing up virtual memory shouldn't be including since it's just a data file stored on the harddrive.
* The RAM usage by programs is no more than they were on XP; the problem is with the OS RAM usage, not the programs running on the OS.

"So if you’re planning on gaming or just use it for programs that usually render stuff, use XP 64bit"
* XP 64bit can still be spotty on driver support so it's not the best to recommend.

"XP 64bit is based on Windows Server 2003"
* Another false statement; windows 2k3 server is based off of the old NT server OS; e.g. Windows NT 3.1 then Windows NT 4 Server then windows 2000 server then Windows 2003 server. The versions 3.1 through 2000 were prior to XP and XP was actually based off the NT server OS; not the other way around.

"If it doesn’t run good at all, it’s not a software problem, it’s a hardware problem."
* It's impossible for you to make that statement without any information on what the problem is that a person is having. It could be a software problem for all you know.

"Unless of course you decided to install the Service Packs like I advise you not to, then it is by no means a software problem."
* First you shouldn't recommend for users not to install a service pack; they usually include security updates along with numerous bug fixes; Just because you didn't have a good experience after installing it doesn't mean it won't work fine for someone else.

You keep trying to compare Vista to ME but it sounds like you haven't used either extensively. Windows ME was Windows 98, they added a few extra "features" such as system restore and a few other minor changes. But basically it was Windows 98; any Windows 98 Driver would work with Windows ME.

If you're going to take the time to sit down and write an article on a subject; be sure your facts are correct.
