Dear Hiring Manager,
This letter and attached resume is in response to an opening for a “E1621:Manufacturing Engineer Asc” as posted on www.lockheedjobs.com.
I am an Engineering Technology: Design student at the University of Central Florida graduating this December. This degree provides me with a broad knowledge of several Engineering disciplines. The diversity of this degree along with my extensive experience in the fabrication/manufacturing field has prepared me to be an outstanding engineering team member, especially when it involves the manufacturing or integration of systems.
The first hand experience I possess in the fabrication field provides me with an intimate familiarity with common machining, welding, metal forming, and general fabrication operations.
My experiences as they relate to this specific job posting are as follows:
• My fabrication experience coupled with my degree will allow me to quickly understand a shop’s processes and how to optimize them.
• I have experience in taking engineering drawings from paper to realization including creating parts and shop lists. I also have experience using software packages to aid in this process, such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and other 3D design programs including SolidWorks.
• I possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• My previous dealings with internal and external customers in fabrication shops and engineering firms have shown that I can clearly, effectively, and properly communicate with customers.
• My experiences and communication skills will be valuable in providing guidance to customers concerning the manufacturing of their design concepts using common manufacturing techniques and equipment.
I would appreciate the opportunity to further explain how my combination of experiences and education will be helpful to you. If you would like to contact me about an interview or have any questions I can be reached by phone at 407-376-1134 and by email at mtetlow1@gmail.com
Thank you for your time,
Mike Tetlow
