Looking for a BMW E36 325i - OBD1, 93' up only (for VANOS)
What to look for:
check for different body panel VIN numbers, if so, car was (probably) in an accident
check for "DOT-R" on body panels, means replacement, car was (probably) in an accident
check cooling system records, they usually go early (radiator neck snapping)
check rear shock mounts (see if they are cracked, etc)
check rear trailing arms and bushings (make sure they aren't bent/cracked)
check windows for regulator failures/problems
check for "5th gear detent" - problem with staying in 5th - $1200 job, so check it!
