Ok, I don't think I am gaining much at all from this class. I'm going to try and explain my situation as best as I can into 4 points.

1) Lack of fulfilling promises.

You told me you would have a look at at my essay before you went on your vacation to see if I needed to revise it again because I already did a significant revision. That obviously did not happen.

2) I'm not liking this online set-up.

I don't know what's going on, but the copy you sent me is different than the copy I sent you. I don't have the mistakes you pointed out in the copy you sent me. I will only submit printed papers now.

3) Lack of useful criticism to my papers.

I quite frankly do not care what you think about my opinions. I just want to get better at writing and making my essays sound better. In one of your comments you told me you disagreed with something I said and saying you told me that already, which to me is implying I should change it. I don't care if you disagree. I want to write what I feel like writing. I'm not going to write generic essays like all the other students. I want to get better at writing, not get better at agreeing with your opinions. You tell me how the movie lacks evidence supporting my thesis. How is that? I took facts from the movie and gave sources on what those facts could do to people. Is it better if I just make up my own evidence and talk out of my you know what like everyone else in class seem to do? At least I put in facts based on actual research. They lived on a reservation, which is from the movie, and I found evidence that living on a reservation isn't all that great. Victor had a single parent, which is from the movie, and I found evidence that living with a single parent can make Victor the way he is. I don't see the problem? Should I just talk like that one girl who'd make up stuff off the top of her head? I remember she said something about how victor bullied people because he is a coward and that could affect the rest of the Native American population through a mutation or something. That's how a lot of people seem to be. They talk without having what they say backed up by sources and research. If that's what you're looking for, just say so. I hate it, though. I remember when you said that the government is spending 200 billion day on the Iraq war, which is completely wrong. That's not my style. I never speak unless I'm sure of something. I believe finding sources made my argument much stronger.

4) Lack of a set standard and more work on actual writing.

There should be a set standard set for the class. The standards should not all of a sudden become higher on the 3rd paper. No one even knows what your standard is. Writing is extremely important to because I want to get good at it. I've only taken one english course in high school. That's because I got out of high school early; I'm really suppose to be a Junior in high school. Do you remember how I told you I decided to leave high school because I got in too much trouble? We never work on writing. Give us examples of good papers, so we can see what's good. Let's work an ACTUAL writing. You're raising your standards without actually trying to elevate our writing. You complain about me repeating points at the end of my paragraphs, but my last semester english teacher--who has been teaching for over 30 years--told us to always repeat our points at the end of our paragraphs. Why is it that every teacher wants stuff different?

I might seem mad in this email, but I am not. I am just frustrated. We have two completely view points on how stuff should be, and I'm not willing to change my view points for ANYONE. I want to get better at WRITING. Can we work on writing? Please, let's make a meeting in your office for 11 A.M either tomorrow or wednesday. There's a lot of stuff I want to get off my chest.
