1. First, the Hooke’s Law Apparatus, both springs, and the weight set were obtained.
2. The first spring used was the small spring. A ruler was attached to this apparatus to make the measurement easier.
3. Different weights were placed onto the spring and the stretch was recorded in centimeters: 10g, 20g, 30g, 40g, 50g, 60g, 70g, 80g, 90g, 100g, and 110g.
4. The stretch caused by each weight was recorded in centimeters.
5. After all weights and measurements were completed, the same thing was done for the large spring.
6. The weights placed onto the large spring were as follows: 100g, 200g, 300g, 400g, 500g, 600g, 700g, 800g, 900g, 1000g, 1100g, and 1200g.
7. For each weight, the stretch was recorded using a meter stick.
8. After this was completed, an equation was used to find out the constant for each spring. The data was then displayed on a line graph.
