Hey there! First of all, congratulations on Zenwalk 4.6, it' s amazing!!!

Now...how do I make my touchpad work properly in Zenwalk? I' m not able to scroll pages up or down using the pad I can only scroll pages down by using its button and I think this is annoying. Could you guys help me?

I'm running Zenwalk 4.6.1 in a Compaq Presario M2005US laptop computer with amazing speed!!

Thanks,

-cris

Hi,

you could try the Synaptics touchpad driver : http://wiki.zenwalk.org/index.php/ALPS_Touchpad

Thanks for the help but it didn't work. I followed the tutorial and it only locked my pointer down. Here's the output of dmesg:

drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: v2.6:USB HID core driver
input: AT Translated Set 2 keyboard as /class/input/input0
input: SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad as /class/input/input1
input: Power Button (FF) as /class/input/input2
input: Lid Switch as /class/input/input3
input: Sleep Button (CM) as /class/input/input4

I've installed the driver provided in the tutorial and yet it didn't work.

Thanks,

With this configuration my touchpad gets locked down. Maybe I did something wrong.

add
Code:

	Load "synaptics"

to "Module" section
and you might need to change the "Device" in the Input synaptics part (mine is /dev/ts0)

Crap...not working yet.Still frozen.Maybe it is the Device location, I've tried /dev/ts0 and /dev/auto none of them worked properly. Any other idea? In my slack 12 I didn't had to do anything to setup my touchpad sad

Thanks for your patience guys.

you can test with any: /dev/input/*

but dmesg can be helpful:
$ dmesg |grep Touch
Synaptics Touchpad, model: 1, fw: 5.9, id: 0x254ab1, caps: 0x804713/0x0
input: SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad as /class/input/input1

can you repost/recheck your xorg.conf (the loadmodule, input synaptics, serverlayout sections)
here is mine, working with touchpad and no problem if usb mouse is pluged (both control the cursor):
