- Hi,
- When loading up Ubuntu on my Compaq Presario F502AU laptop, I get an error message saying "Failed initializing HAL".
- When trying to load network-manager from GDM I get a window that says "Your configuration could not be loaded, you are not allowed to access the system configuration" and if I run it from the command line:

- (network-admin:5610): Liboobs-CRITICAL **: oobs_session_get_platform: assertion `priv->connection != NULL' failed
- I also get this error when trying to start Compiz Fusion:
- Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or directory
- before it segfaults on me.
