Heinrich Hertz
.Heinrich Hertz was a german physict and mechanic, the si unit hertz is named after him.
.Born feb 22 1857, died 1894
.began his college studies at munich, but then transferred to the university of berlin. Their he recived his docterate degree with high regard.
.He obtained his PhD in 1880,
.While he was at berlin he was assistants to many great physicst of all time, Gustav R. Kirchhoff and Hermann von Helmholtz.
.1883 he became a lecturer at University of Kiel on theriatical physics.
.1885 he was made professor of physics at Karlsruhe Polytechnic
.1886 he devoloped what he called the hertz antenna used in his experiments with radio waves.
.1887 he tested maxwells theory, which he was finding the photoelectric effect. He made a device the consisted of a coil, spark gap reciver. This would show a spark when electro magnetic waves formed. This was all showing that and object with charge energy will lose its charges if you hit it with uv light. But glass or any materials that absorb uv light will cut down on this effect.
.He was the first to demonstrate the existence of electromagnetic waves by building an device to produce and detect UHF radio waves, this was all caused from the expirement above
.In 1892 he proved that cathorde rays can piece thin metals like alluminum.
.also in 1892 he was diagnosed with an infection he went into surgery. And later 1894 he died of blood poisoning in germany.
