Marking in depth (For Judges).
Mark each 'question' on a scale of one to five - five being the best possible outcome.
Playability
1. Is it easily traversable?
- Not too many jumps.
- No unintentionally impossible-to-reach areas.
2. Is it - balanced and encouraging for CTF?
- a fast-paced, interesting FFA?
- geared towards a good RH, with places to
hide a rabbit?
3. Does it provide reasonable benefits for flags, while not
being too campable or whorish? (Give 3 for no flags.)
4. Does it encourage a basic game-play strategy or goal, or is it
just a fest of bullets?
5. Has the mapper *really* thought about the playability, or is it a
lucky coincidence?
Eye-Candy
6. Does the map look like something?
7. Have they used their own textures? Just the standard BZ textures?
Just plain colored materials?
8. Did they use texture matrices and/or dynamic colors?
9. Is there use of the mesh object? Just the 2.0 primitives? Just
1.x stuff?
10. Is the eye-candy overly distracting? Does it enhance the
gameplay?
The Concept and Ingenuity.
This is ignoring playability - it's the about idea only.
11. Has the map maker had a brand new concept or idea? Have they just ripped off an
idea that's been done a million times?
12. Has the map maker approached a problem in a new or interesting
way? Is it full of boring over-used techniques?
13. Has the map maker used a large range of BZW capabilities? Highest mark for 1.x maps is 3.
14. Has the map maker build complex structures well out of smaller simple objects, such as the box? Highest mark for 2.0 maps is 3.
15. Has the map maker pulled off the concept well?
Workmanship
16. Does BZFS give any errors with -dddd. Mark more harshly for 1.x maps - they're harder to balls up?
17. Is the map full of ugly over-lapping boxes, etc?
18. Have textures been applied nicely? Do they look fugly? Do you see any 'jittery' textures? Give 1.x maps 3
19. Do downloadables download without modifying downloadaccess? Mark 0 for 'No', 5 for 'yes', 4 for 'no downloadables'.
20. Overall Impression: Your personal feeling.
