I've stood up for the way the IRC channel has been run for quite some time now, but over time things have started slowly changing. The people running it are slowly starting to ban and remove people from the chat, because they all have different ideas. You'll notice that the site has lots of people and lots of varying opinions of what's acceptable and what isn't.
Chat never used to care about peoples opinions, if they didn't cause trouble then they were allowed in without any problems. Then one of the people in control of the channel decided that the didn't like someone, so they shouldn't be there. This was argued against and they were allowed back in, yet it kept repeating itself every few months.
Then finally cobretti (rocky_13) got sick of the person in power being complained about, and took away everyones powers. Everything went back to normal, until they decided that there were too many people with voice in. So instead of having people that know the A-N members, they bought in their friends from other channels. The main problems with this is, people were being given power so the user list colours were more varied, and the people with powers knew nothing at all about the community.
What I'm proposing is, we change to another server, with people who can work with logic moderating the channel. Things will stay the same as the other one, except people won't have powers to kick or ban just because it makes the user list look nicer.
